2022-2023 Open Enrollment

The 2022-2023 Open Enrollment (OE) begins Monday, April 25, 2022 and runs through Friday, May 13, 2022.

This is your annual opportunity to assess your benefits needs and revise your medical/dental selections. Open Enrollment is held each year so eligible employees can make adjustments to their health plans such as:

  • You wish to add coverage for an eligible dependent
  • You are currently enrolled and wish to terminate coverage for yourself or a covered dependent
  • You would now like to elect coverage for yourself and your eligible dependent(s) in your employer's health benefits effective on July 1, 2022
  • You are an employee that is currently enrolled in coverage and you wish to change your current plan elections, effective July 1, 2022

As a reminder, this is a passive OE which means that if you do not make any changes to existing benefit elections, NO ACTION is required and the current elections will automatically roll over on July 1st. PLEASE NOTE, ONLY MEMBERS WHO ELECT A CHANGE WILL RECEIVE NEW ID CARDS.

Please remember, due to the Chapter 44 Law, if you were hired on or after July 1, 2020 you must remain in the Educator Health Plan, or move to the newly offered Garden State Health Plan (described below), if you choose to elect coverage with Colts Neck Board of Education.

The Garden State Health Plan (GSHP) is an additional and 100% voluntary plan offering required to be offered as part of the Chapter 44 legislation. This plan is being introduced effective July 1, 2022 and you may choose to enroll into this plan during Open Enrollment.

*Note: A “Qualifying Life Event”, such as marriage, divorce, birth of a child, adoption or loss of other coverage, allows you to adjust your benefit elections outside of the Open Enrollment period. To be eligible for this special enrollment opportunity, you must request the change within 30 days of the qualifying event.
