Employee Health Benefits

The Employee Health Benefits website offers you up-to-date information about the health benefits available to you as an eligible Colts Neck Township School District employee. It is suggested that you check this page regularly to find the latest on your benefits.

The District currently offers medical/prescription/vision through Aetna and dental through Horizon to all its full-time employees. Employees are considered full-time if they work 30 hours per week. Coverage for new employees starting September 1st is effective immediately. Employees hired after September 1st have a 60-day waiting period.

As per New Jersey law (Chapter 78, P.L. 2011), all employees are required to contribute towards the cost of the medical and prescription plans. Contributions are based on the salary charts established by the State of Jew Jersey. Currently, all employees contribute at Year “4”. Employee contributions are made on a pre-tax basis.

All new employees hired on or after July 1, 2020 must participate in the NJEHP or the GSHP. Employees hired prior to July 1, 2020 have the right to move between the NJEHP, GSHP and their collectively bargained insurance plans during open enrollments offered at least once a year by their employer.
