 The transition from one grade to the next can be especially challenging for children. To make this shift more easily, careful planning and preparation is necessary. This page provides additional information to assist with your child's transition. 

 
 

 New Student Orientation

Students new to the district will be invited to a "NEW" student orientation offered by the respective building principals to be scheduled the days prior to the first day of school.  

 


Pre-School Orientation - August 

Preschool students will receive a letter in mid-August that will invite them to an orientation session with their teacher and classmates the week prior to school. Details will follow.


 

 Kindergarten Orientation - June 2nd - 9:30 am - 11:00 pm 

 


3rd Grade Parent Orientation - August 30th , 9:00 AM

Students will have the opportunity to meet their classroom and related arts teachers. Parents will meet with Mr. Osmond in the school cafeteria while students are with their classes.

 Grades 4 and 5 Chromebook Deployment Dates

 Attend ONE Session only  

August 25th at 11:00 AM

August 25th at 5:30 PM

 September lst at 5:30 PM

6th Grade Parent Orientation - June 9th at 7:00 PM

 The evening will include a tour of the building, "helpful hints" from current 6th grade students, and an overview of all academic and extracurricular programs.  We look forward to seeing you on Thursday! 

6th Grade Transition Parent Chat - June 21st at 7:30 PM

 Mr. Osmond and Mr. Rigby will be available to answer questions and discuss transition from 5th to 6th grade and the overall middle school experience. 

6th Grade Tour of CDMS – June 10th at 12:30
