• What is STEM, STEAM and  iSTEM?

STEM is an acronym coined by the National Science Foundation in the early 2000’s  to show the relationship of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematic. Since then STEM has spread across many different areas and has found it’s place in everyday education. http://www.ed.gov/stem

STEAM is Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, & Mathematics. In some cases STEAM education is adopted in place of STEM to further bring all subjects together.

iSTEM is a newer concept that is based out of The College of New Jersey. The “i” representing “integrative” further solidifying the necessity to teach Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in tandem rather than as individual subjects. https://centerforstem.pages.tcnj.edu/
