NJ s Educator s Health Plan

On July 1, 2020, Phil Murphy signed P.L. 2020, c. 44 (Chapter 44) into law. This legislation requires all New Jersey school districts to offer the New Jersey Educators Health Plan (NJEHP) and the Garden State Health Plan (GSHP).

Under Chapter 44, employee health benefit contributions for these plans are calculated as a percentage of salary, rather than as a percentage of the insurance premium.  Please visit the Healthcare Contribution Charts page for more information.

All employees hired on or after July 1, 2020 are required to enroll in either the NJEHP or the Garden State Health Plan (GSHP).

Employees hired prior to July 1, 2020 may elect to enroll in the NJEHP, GSHP, or remain in their collectively bargained health plan during annual open enrollment periods offered by the District.
